925 Sterling Silver The 925 stamp on silver jewellery is all about the purity of the silver. It means that for every 1000 parts of material in the jewellery piece, 925 parts must be made of silver and no more than 75 parts should be a different metal. It breaks down into 92.5% silver and 7.5% an additional metal.  This may include copper or brass. Pure 100% silver is soft and malleable so 7.5% of additional metal needs to be added to harden the silver for jewellery.

Protectect your Jewellery

  Keep your silver in a self seal bag individually or in pouches or cases in cool, dry places.

 Consider storing your sterling silver rings in sealed airtight bags to prevent any humidity and oxidation.

  When you polish your silver rings, you should polish them with up-and-down strokes instead of circles. Polishing your sterling silver rings in circles can cause the tarnishing to worsen.

 Never use chemical liquid jewellery cleaners to clean your silver. Instead, try a simple microfiber cloth or specially designed sterling silver jewellery polishing cloth

 Always remove your jewellery when you are doing things that involve strong heat, sunlight, harsh chemicals, water and sweat.
